1. Who we are
SpeakReady is an iOS app for practicing conversations with an AI partner, then reviewing a recording of the session.

2. Information we collect
2.1 Account
SpeakReady does not use Sign in with Apple or an app password. The app creates an anonymous account identifier on your device (stored in the iOS Keychain) so we can keep your practice-minute balance. That identifier is sent to our billing service when you start a voice session or restore a purchase.
2.2 Camera and microphone
- Camera (typically the front camera) records a practice video so you can review how you spoke.
- Microphone records your voice into that session and streams your speech live to the AI conversation partner so it can reply out loud.
You can deny or revoke camera and microphone in iOS Settings. Practice that needs live voice or a review video will not work without them.
2.3 Session recordings (on your device)
When you record a session, SpeakReady saves media on your device, including:
- a camera video of you
- your microphone audio
- the AI partner’s audio
These files are stored in the app’s private storage and are excluded from iCloud backup. They are not uploaded to ABX Apps servers. You can delete a session in the app (which deletes that session’s local files). Uninstalling the app removes local recordings.
2.4 Speech on the device
The app transcribes your speech on-device using Apple’s Speech APIs so you can talk with the practice partner and so review videos can be captioned. That transcription is not sent to ABX Apps as a separate cloud transcript store.
2.5 Live AI partner audio
Spoken practice uses xAI Grok Voice. Your microphone audio is streamed in real time over an encrypted connection to xAI so the partner can generate spoken replies. We use a short-lived access token from our billing service; we do not put an xAI API key in the app.
We do not use your practice audio for advertising.
2.6 Purchases
SpeakReady sells practice minutes through Apple In-App Purchase:
- Starter and Deal — consumable minute packs. Purchased minutes do not expire.
- Power Pass — an auto-renewable monthly subscription that grants a monthly minute bucket. Unused subscription minutes do not roll over to the next month.
Apple processes the payment. We receive product identifiers, signed App Store transaction data, and a minute balance for your anonymous account. We do not store full card numbers.
A short complimentary Grok Voice allowance may be granted once per account (currently five minutes) so you can try spoken practice.
Prices are shown in the app via Apple and may vary by region. Manage or cancel subscriptions in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Refunds follow Apple’s policies.
2.7 Device preferences
The app stores ordinary feature settings in UserDefaults (not advertising IDs). SpeakReady does not use App Tracking Transparency and does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites for advertising.
3. How we use information
We use this information to:
- Run live practice conversations and play spoken replies.
- Save and play back sessions you recorded on the device.
- Meter practice minutes and deliver In-App Purchases.
- Caption review video using on-device speech recognition.
- Respond if you email support@abx-apps.com.
We do not sell personal information.
4. Sharing and processors

Other people do not see your practice recordings unless you share a file yourself from your device.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect safety, or in connection with a good-faith legal process.
5. Retention
- On-device recordings and session titles: until you delete the session or uninstall the app.
- Anonymous account id (Keychain): until you delete the app’s Keychain data or we reset it after a support request we can verify.
- Minute wallet: account id, plan, period start, and seconds used, retained as needed to deliver purchases and prevent reuse of the same App Store transaction.
- Support email: retained as needed to handle your request.
6. Your choices
- Revoke camera, microphone, and speech recognition in iOS Settings.
- Delete a recorded session in the app.
- Restore purchases on the plans screen (Apple ID ownership).
- Email support@abx-apps.com about your minute balance or this policy.
7. Children
SpeakReady is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Contact support@abx-apps.com if you believe a child used the app.
8. Security
The app uses HTTPS/WSS for billing and live voice. Recordings stay in the app sandbox on your device. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
9. International processing
Your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where Apple, xAI, or Cloudflare operate.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. We will revise the effective date and, where appropriate, post the update on abx-apps.com. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
