1. Who we are
ABX Apps is the software development studio and legal operator of Community Exchange, a peer-to-peer community exchange and barter iOS app. Users can browse listings, visit peer storefronts, communicate over live video/audio (LiveKit), negotiate exchanges, post Neighbors updates, and purchase optional digital subscriptions or consumables through Apple In-App Purchase. Legal and support materials for this product are published on abx-apps.com.

2. Information we collect
2.1 Account and identity
- Sign in with Apple identity (subject identifier; email if you share it with Apple/us). There is no app password.
- Profile data you provide: display name, handle, bio, and related account fields.
- iCloud / CloudKit record identifiers used to restore your profile across devices signed into the same Apple ID (not for advertising).
2.2 Location
- Coarse / approximate location when you grant location permission, used to sort marketplace listings by distance and to tag your store area when you set a store location.
- Location is not sold and is not used for cross-app tracking.
2.3 Content you create (user-generated content)
- Marketplace and store listings (titles, descriptions, photos, videos, schedules, pricing terms).
- Neighbors / Activity posts and media you publish to people you follow or who follow you.
- Bulletins, store theme media, and similar storefront content.
- Promissory notes / exchange records, prep drafts, ratings, and related ledger data needed to run trades.
- In-app contacts (“People”) you form with other traders. This is not your device Address Book.
- Reports and blocks you submit or create in-app.
2.4 Communications media
- Camera and microphone streams during video calls, store “Face” sessions, and live streams.
- Real-time A/V is transmitted via LiveKit (hosted by us, or, if you choose, your own LiveKit Cloud project).
- Live only: we do not record calls or streams, and we do not store call or stream media.
- We do not use call media for advertising.
2.5 Purchases and entitlements
- In-App Purchase transaction identifiers and product IDs processed by Apple.
- Server-side subscription tier, hosted LiveKit plan, banner credits, and listing-pack balances after Apple verifies a transaction.
- Banner credits are consumable in-app promotional credits for featuring your store or listings inside Community Exchange. They are not third-party advertising.
- We do not store full card numbers.
2.6 Reports and support
- Content reports (reason, optional details, reported profile, context).
- Emails you send to support@abx-apps.com and related support tickets. From the app, Help & trust may prefill your support tier in the subject line so we can route you.
2.7 Device and diagnostics
- Standard app preferences stored in UserDefaults (feature settings, not advertising IDs).
- Optional calendar event identifiers if you enable exchange calendar reminders.
- We do not use App Tracking Transparency and do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites for advertising.
3. How we use information
We use the data above to:
- Authenticate you and operate profiles, stores, listings, and Neighbors.
- Connect peers for store visits, calls, and streams.
- Enforce membership limits and deliver paid digital features.
- Moderate safety reports, honor blocks, and respond to support requests.
- Sync limited profile discovery data via CloudKit where required for multi-device restore.
- Improve reliability and prevent abuse (rate limits, fraud checks on billing RPCs).
We do not sell personal information.
4. Sharing and processors
We share data only as needed to run Community Exchange:
| Party | Role |
|---|---|
| Apple | Sign in with Apple, App Store billing, push infrastructure, CloudKit / iCloud, device OS services |
| Supabase | Auth, database, storage, realtime signaling, edge functions (including App Store verify / notifications) |
| LiveKit | Real-time audio/video for calls, store rooms, and streams. Media is live only; we do not record or store call/stream media. |
| Email provider (operator) | Outbound notification of content reports / support mail |
Other users may see profile, listing, storefront, and Neighbors content you choose to publish or share in a visit/call. Trades are between users; the app is not an escrow service.
If you choose the manual LiveKit path, A/V is transmitted live to the LiveKit project whose credentials you supply. You are responsible for that project’s settings. We still do not record or store call or stream media on our side.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect safety, or in connection with a good-faith legal process.
5. Retention
- Account and profile data: until you delete your account or as required for legal/safety records.
- Exchange notes and related records: retained as needed for product history, then subject to server retention policies.
- Content reports and blocks: retained for moderation and abuse prevention.
- Purchase records: retained as required for accounting and App Store reconciliation.
- Call and stream media: not recorded and not retained. Live A/V is transmitted and is not stored by us.
After Delete Account & Data, we cascade-delete server profile data, CloudKit discovery records, and local app data, subject to propagation delays and legal holds.
6. Your choices and rights
- Permissions: Camera, microphone, photos, location, and calendar can be revoked in iOS Settings.
- Guest browse: You may browse the public marketplace without an account (subject to location for distance sort).
- Sign out: Clears local session state; server data remains until account deletion.
- Delete account: In-app Account → Delete Account & Data.
- Restore purchases: Available on paywall and hosting screens (Apple ID ownership).
- Age: Intended for users 18+; may use Apple’s Declared Age Range / parental-control checks.
- Depending on your region you may have additional rights. Contact support@abx-apps.com.
7. Children
Community Exchange is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly allow under-18 accounts. Contact support@abx-apps.com if you believe a minor created an account.
8. Security
We use industry-standard transport security (HTTPS / WSS), server-side access controls (including Postgres RLS), Keychain storage for sensitive credentials on device, and App Store–signed transaction verification for purchases. No method of transmission is 100% secure.
9. International processing
Your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where our processors operate. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. We will revise the effective date and, where appropriate, notify you in-app or on abx-apps.com. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
